Since May 2003, Dubai National School – Al Barsha Branch has held accreditation with New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEAS&C) through the Commission on American and International Schools Abroad (CAISA).
Dubai National School – Al Barsha Branch undertook the Five-Year Visit in January 2009. Parents may browse the roster of accredited schools by NEAS&C: http://caisa.neasc.org/caisa_directory_of_schools
Accreditation from NEAS & C was achieved in 2003.DNS has grown since that time to
have now two branches with a total of 5000 students. Both branches offer
American programs. The strategic locations were carefully selected to serve all
interested students in Dubai and Sharjah.DNS graduates are eligible for
admission into all universities, whether American, European or Arabic.
Accreditation is the affirmation that a school provides quality education. It is also a means of showing confidence in the institution's performance.
Accreditation by NEASC indicates that a school meets or exceeds established criteria within the profession for the assessment of institutional quality through a periodic process of self-study and peer review. An accredited school has the resources to achieve its stated purposes and provides evidence that its students are benefiting from the curricular and co-curricular program offered at the school. This means that NEASC accreditation attests to substantial compliance with established qualitative standards, integrity in statements to the public describing the institution's program, institutional commitment to improvement, and sufficiency of institutional resources.
CAISA Accreditation means meeting high level, challenging standards, which are designed specifically by and for American / International Schools.
