It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Dubai National School – Al Barsha. At DNS, “Academic excellence, as well as the physical, moral and spiritual development of every learner is our main concern.”

The core of our philosophy has been derived from the basic pillars of UAE society and from the General Objectives of the National Educational Policy.

DNS currently serves 2500 students from Pre- Kindergarten (3 years old) through grade 12. The student body represents 52 nationalities. The uniqueness of Dubai National School is through having Islamic beliefs and practices as essential elements in its programs.  Each child is a unique individual regardless of his/her ethnic background.  Each child enjoys special protection, he/she is given opportunities and facilities to develop physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually in a healthy and appropriate manner in conditions of freedom and dignity as stipulated in our Islamic religion.

Our 257 staff members come from 29 different nationalities. They provide learners of different groups, abilities and interests with an effectively inclusive, multicultural, and innovative learning environment and facilities including efficient access to educational technology to help them discover and develop their capabilities. We equip them with twenty-first century learning, entrepreneurial and interpersonal communication skills within the principles of global citizenship, positive attitudes, and Islamic values.

In its commitment to the National Agenda of the UAE Government, several international benchmark and standardized tests are applied during the academic year targeting all learners of grades 1 through 12. We aim to measure learners’ attainment and progress, put the needed plans and strategies into practice and achieve the vision of the UAE Government to be among the first countries in education.

As a mark of quality assurance, Dubai National School is fully accredited by one of the world’s most highly regarded accreditation bodies; the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), based in the USA. The NEASC accreditation offers you, as parents, a guarantee of quality knowing that your school meets or exceeds international standards.

At DNS, we believe in the benefits of a holistic education, where learners are motivated to take part and contribute to campus life. Wellness, balance, and character development are promoted through athletic competitions.
