DNS middle school curriculum reflects the learning standards outlined in the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. The middle school community strive to address these standards through a wealth of learning activities and best teaching practices to develop and maintain an educational program that is appropriate and responsive to the unique intellectual, physical, emotional and social needs of each child.

The middle school curriculum is disseminated in a conceptual and skill-based manner. Learners are engaged to learn responsibility, integrity, and independence through adult nurturing and role-modeling. The curriculum is strongly aligned with the Emirati culture and values which influence the UAE society.  It enhances their awareness and respect of what it means to be a good citizen.

The middle school curriculum is enriched through the development of a range of activities that include academic, social, physical and language development. The cross-curricular links are strong and significantly enhanced through STEM and other deliberate linkages, such as Islamic education, Arabic and social studies.

Learners are engaged with project-based learning, allowing them to brainstorm, hypothesize, design the project in a creative and innovative display, test, execute, assess and articulate their learning. In STREAM projects, students transfer their knowledge and skills through interdisciplinary projects connecting reading, science, technology, engineering and design, art and mathematical skills. This offers a range of disciplines that promote innovation and challenge. It develops a balance of knowledge, enquiry skills and understanding, hence, build up well-rounded independent learners and global citizens ready to face the challenges of the future.
