Students’ Code of Conduct
Dear Parents & Students,
Kindly find below the school instructions and code of conduct. We highly seek your cooperation to urge your children to fully adhere to them.
Daily School Hours:
- The school gates open for students at 7:30 am and the first period starts at 8:00 am as of the first day.
- All students of grades KG to 12 have to bring their personal tablets/laptops daily and should not share them with any colleague. Students’ laptops and tablets need to be fully charged before reaching school with power-banks available for recharging purposes.
- Students are not allowed to call their parents to bring personal stuff from home if forgotten. Parents as well as home assistants, drivers, carers are not allowed into the school premises during the school.
- The school day consists of 7 classes on Mondays and Tuesdays; 6 classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays; and 4 classes on Fridays as per the available schedules on the school management system ISS. Attendance on Fridays is highly required.

6. Parents of PreK-3 students who are unable to pick up their children at 1:00 pm or 2:10 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are required to call the Section Administration so as to keep them in their classes until maximum 2:30 pm.
Morning Drop-off and Pick-up
7. All parents are kindly requested to drop off their children in the morning and collect them at the end of the school day on time. We call upon all parents and students to be punctual to school in the morning and after school as frequent early leaves without valid reasons may affect students’ attainment and increase educational loss. In case there is an appointment, kindly inform our supervisors one day ahead.
Morning and End-of-Day Gates Usage
Other than those using the school buses, all Gs 4-12 male students are required to enter the school in the morning and leave it at the end of the day through the Boys’ gate only. No male student shall be authorized to use the girls’ gate without obtaining prior approval from the Principal and for certain limited cases. Violators will be subject to a deduction of 1 mark from the behavior for each of the first 3 violations. As of the fourth time, violators will be subject to a one-day suspension from school, deduction of 10 marks from the behavior, and issuance of a warning letter.
Morning Tardiness and Absence
- The child’s parent is the only person authorized to report absence and/or tardiness to the supervisor, not the child.
- Late students coming to school between 8:00 and 8:15 am will not be allowed to enter their classes directly. They will have to wait till 8:15 am to enter their classes. Students coming after 8:15 am will enter the class at the end of the first period unless a test is being administered. In this case, no extra time will be granted.
- Students have to be present in their classes on time, especially for classes that follow the recess.
- Parents are requested to inform the administration if their child is sick or going to be absent or late. Students will not be admitted to their classes without a medical report or a letter from the guardian justifying the reasons for their absences.
- Students’ absenteeism and tardiness affect the school’s ability to provide effective educational services, the achievements of consistently absent or late students, and disrupt the learning experiences of other students in the school. Parents, the students, and the school must work together to improve and maintain high attendance rates.

Uniform & General Appearance
For Girls:
- School uniform is compulsory. Changing the uniform to skirts or cutting sleeves is strictly refused.
- Wearing the "Abaya" in the school premises is not allowed.
- Wearing sports uniform is allowed only on the day when students have PE classes. Elastic strips to shorten PE uniform are prohibited.
- Only swimming suits provided by the school are to be worn during swimming lessons when the school is back to normal circumstances after the pandemic is over.
- The school hoodies are only allowed to wear at school even during the winter season.
- Hair should be off the face, tied back if long enough. Coloring the hair is strictly forbidden.
- Make-up, long nails, and nail-polish are not allowed.
- All types of tattoos are strictly prohibited.
- No gold jewelry or trinkets are allowed. If any jewelry items are worn, they will be confiscated. Anklets and ear and nose piercings are strictly prohibited.
- Only plain black low-heeled shoes with laces or a buckle are allowed. Sandals, slippers, and crocs are not allowed.
- Colored contact lenses are totally not allowed.
- Students are not allowed to change clothes during the school hours.
For Boys:
- School uniform is compulsory.
- The school hoodies are only allowed to wear at school even during the winter season.
- Wearing sports uniform is allowed only on the day when students have PE classes in normal schooling circumstances. Short pants in classes and phases are strictly prohibited.
- Only regular haircuts are allowed. Dying hair is strictly prohibited. Violators will be sent home and must have a normal haircut before they are admitted back into school.
- All types of tattoos are strictly prohibited.
- Only plain black shoes with laces or buckle are allowed. It is also not permitted to wear sports shoes that contain any nails in the heel, shoes with rollers, flip-flops, or open-toed shoes (Crocs).
Hygiene
Your children should take care of their personal hygiene. Hair, fingernails, teeth, etc., should be clean. In case of head lice, parents are requested to keep their affected children at home for at least 3 days till hair is totally clean. Affected students shall join the school when healed and after obtaining the school doctor's permission.
Classroom Conduct
- Be quiet in class, listen carefully, and work hard.
- Do not eat or drink during classes.
- Do not enter or leave any other classrooms.
- Do not leave their classrooms in case of emergency (to the clinic, washroom, etc.) without their teachers’ permission.
- Keep their classrooms clean and tidy.
- Do not scribble on their desks, chairs, and the school uniform.
- Keep their private lockers clean from inside and outside and use them for academic purposes only.
- Commit themselves to utter honesty and never borrow anything from others.
- Do not use any unacceptable stickers on books, bulletin boards, or doors. Suitable files for work, without any pictures of pop-stars, etc., should be used.
- Avoid using white correctors in school.
- Do not communicate with the parent, another student, or any other person, whether from the school or outside it, during classes through the students’ electronic devices.
Outside Classroom Conduct
- Bring to school all required items, stationeries, and books.
- Obtain the Pass to Clinic card from the supervisor before going to the administration/clinic.
- Show respect for all administrative and teaching staff in the school.
- Keep decent behavior while using the school transportation means.
- Do not drive to school unless permitted by the principal.
- Do not litter.
- Do not eat chewing gums inside the school premises.
- Do not bring any “glass bottles”, “soft drinks”, “chips”, or "fast food” to school.
- Do not exchange or buy and sell food and drinks with colleagues. Birthday parties of colleagues and teachers are prohibited.
- Do not use any bad or foul language at all or fight with anyone inside or outside the classroom. In case of not complying, the student may be expelled from school.
- Take good care of textbooks and copybooks and keep them neat and tidy.
- Do not start or participate in any political or religious discussions that violate the UAE laws.
- Do not communicate with the parent, another student, or any other person, whether from the school or outside it, outside class times or during daily recess through the students’ electronic devices.
Smoking and Electronic Cigarettes
The phenomenon of e-cigarettes has recently spread among young people and students as an alternative to traditional cigarettes. Some social media accounts sell e-cigarettes and accessories. The School would like to draw parents’ attention to this phenomenon. The school urges parents to direct their children to the health dangers of e-cigarettes and smoking of all types and to stay away from bad friends. The school shall take serious measures against smokers and dealers of traditional and electronic types of cigarettes at school.
Important Note
Maintaining the safety of school facilities and refraining from tampering with any of its contents, belongings, tools, equipment, devices, and furniture is everyone’s responsibility. Anyone who causes damage to or disrupts any of them will be subject to disciplinary measures outlined in the Student Code of Conduct and the school's disciplinary regulations, including the obligation to compensate financially for any damage or harm.
Student Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Committee
Any violation of the school behavioral regulations and instructions by any of the students will be subject to the decision reached by the School Disciplinary Committee, which is formed to correct any misbehavior that may occur at school. Decisions are taken according to the School Code of Conduct.
Behavior Subject for Grades 4 to 12 (Boys and Girls)
The Behavior Subject is considered an independent subject of 100 marks. It is listed on the school report card in each semester and at the end of the academic year for all grades 4-12, where the behavioral performance of male and female students is evaluated by the phase supervisor and teacher. Marks are deducted from the Behavior Subject according to their behavioral and educational discipline, commitment to attendance and departure times, daily absence, morning tardiness, and delay between classes, daily recess, and upon students’ departure at the end of the school day. Marks are also deducted from the Behavior Subject as per the decisions issued by the school disciplinary committee in case a student violates the school regulations and instructions or commits any behavioral or ethical violation.
School Management System (ISS) & School’s Website
- Parents can access the (ISS) School Management System on the website www.dnschools.com through a special username & password. This will enable them to check the electronic circulars sent by the administration as well as to follow up on their children’s grades, homework assignments, and other academic and behavioral comments in the different subjects. Usernames & passwords can be obtained from the sections’ supervisors.
- Parents need to follow up on the student’s weekly assignment schedule, extracurricular activities, and teachers’ remarks and instructions. Parents must see to it that students study at home on a daily basis without direct assistance, but with guidance and advice.
- Parents are responsible for reading any updated regulations that will be posted on the school’s website or the school management system (ISS) during the year.

Assessment
- Paper and online assessments shall be used to measure the academic progress of all students. A detailed letter will be issued later.
- Ongoing formative and summative assessment is implemented to measure students’ attainment and progress in class and over time. Marks will be concluded from their daily work (e.g., essays, quizzes, presentations, and participation in class), projects, and practical work.
- Specific details about this system are available on the school management system (www.dnschools.com) under Curriculum Briefing.
- Special online orientation meetings with subjects’ leaders shall be held for more clarification.
Regulations Pertaining to Exams
- Absence from any examination will not be allowed, and no re-test will be conducted unless:
- The cause of absence is sickness, which is confirmed and authorized by the administration.
- A prior written approval from the principal is obtained via the supervisor.
- Weekly quizzes and drop quizzes are not to be repeated under any circumstances.
- In case of emergency traveling during exam days, a special form shall be filled out by the parent. The school has the right to grant approval or deny it based on the circumstances.
- The following activities show a lack of academic integrity: cheating, trying to cheat, plagiarism (including electronic), alteration of materials, or providing or using external assistance in any examination, test, quiz, or daily assignment, including looking at another student’s work, sharing answers, or copying another student’s work or any act designed to give unfair academic advantage to the student. Cheating or any attempt to cheat will result in the following strict measures:
- A zero mark will be given to the student on the test/quiz or assigned activity.
- Ten marks will be deducted from the Behavior Mark.
- A warning letter will be issued.
- The student camera needs to be operating during any electronic exam.
Reading the Exams for Students
- Teachers are allowed to read the exam questions only for Grade 2 during the First Term. Students are trained to rely on themselves in the exams that follow.
- Students should respect the timing scheduled for each examination; late students to exams will be subject to strict measures and will not be given extra time.
- The exams are timed. Hence, no extra time will be allowed for any students without a medical report from a specialist that is approved by the school.
Parent Responsibilities Before the Examination Period
- Remind the student of the examination and how to get ready for it.
- Get the examination schedule and the exam required material, which is usually made available on the school management system one week prior to the examination date.
- Check the exam result within 72 hours of the test/quiz administration or within 24 hours of the drop quiz administration.
- Keep all the daily quizzes and assignments as they will be needed for the preparation of the end-of-term tests.
- The required material for the end-of-year re-exam will include selected chapters from the whole syllabus for a subject.
International Benchmark Tests and The National Agenda 2021
In its commitment to support the UAE National Agenda 2021 and meet the requirements of the KHDA in Dubai, a number of international benchmark and standardized tests are applied during the academic year in order to measure students’ attainment and progress and put the needed plans and strategies into practice to achieve the targets of the UAE 2021 to be among the first countries in educational achievements. Students’ seriousness and commitment are required, as well as parents’ support and follow-up.
Moral Education Program
The school applies the moral education program to all first through twelfth graders. We seek parents’ support and follow-up to support the implementation of the program.
Social Media
The school will take strict measures against any student who posts offensive comments or insulting quotes about other students or any of the school personnel on any means of social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.
Bring Your Own Device Policy and Agreement Form
- The School has its own Bring Your Own Device Policy that regulates the use of students’ electronic devices, laptops, iPads, and tablets within the school premises. Parents and students will be required to review and sign a BYOD agreement. No student will be permitted to use personal technology devices unless the agreement is signed and returned.
- Students take full responsibility for their devices. The school is not responsible for the security of personal technology devices. Personal devices cannot be left at school before or after school hours. Personal devices should not be taken to the sports’ gyms nor arts and home economics rooms.
- Students must immediately comply with teachers’ requests to shut down devices or close the screen.
- Students are not permitted to transmit or post photographic images/videos of any person on campus on public and/or social networking sites.
- Personal devices must be charged prior to bringing them to school and run off their own batteries while at school. Charging will be available on a limited basis and is up to teacher discretion.
- To ensure appropriate network filters, students will only use the wireless (Wi-Fi) connection in school and will not attempt to bypass the network restrictions by using their personal or 4G/5G (cellular) network.
- Students understand that bringing devices on premises or infecting the network with a virus or other program designed to alter, damage, destroy, or provide access to unauthorized data or information is in violation of the school policies and will result in disciplinary actions. The school has the right to collect and examine any device that is suspected of causing problems or is the source of an attack or virus infection.
- Students realize that printing from personal devices will not be permitted at school.
- Students should not physically share their personal devices with other students or persons at school unless they have written permission to do so.
School Canteen
- Healthy food items are served inside classrooms by a healthy Catering Services provider. They are to be consumed within classes and not prepared for “take away.”
- Ordering food – especially fast food – from nearby restaurants during and after school hours is prohibited.
School Buses
- School buses are considered part of the school premises whether run by the school or any other external party.
- All health and safety protocols issued by the local authorities shall be applied before entering the bus, inside the bus, and upon leaving the bus as explained at the beginning of this letter.
- Bus students are expected to use the assigned buses only. Requests to change buses are banned unless it is an emergency case and with a written request from the parents. The supervisor and the transportation officer need to be informed.
- Students who use the school bus must observe the following rules:
- Students are expected to demonstrate respect towards the driver, the conductor, and other passengers.
- Students must always be seated with a buckled seatbelt. They must respect all measures of safety set by the school and avoid ill behavior.
- Students are expected to keep the buses tidy and not dispose of any rubbish on the bus.
- Students are not permitted to use their mobile phones for recording or taking pictures inside the bus.
- Students are expected to adhere to the stop points previously agreed upon.
- The section supervisor needs to be informed in the morning in case a student shall not use the school bus at the end of the day.
- Violators of the bus safety rules and instructions will be subject to punishment, which may include a temporary or permanent suspension from the school transportation services and a deduction from the behavior mark.
Private Tutoring
- No private lessons are allowed to be arranged at a student’s home under any circumstances.
- All private tutoring classes must be conducted inside the school and after school hours, namely after 3:15 pm.
- A request needs to be applied to the supervisor to obtain the needed administration approvals before any session starts.
- You may refer to the administration for more details.
General Rules
- Students should strive to represent themselves, family, and school in the best possible way.
- Assigning students to classes is solely the school's responsibility. No request to move a student from one section to another will be considered.
- Celebrating birthdays inside the school premises is not allowed.
- Mischievous and lazy students who fail to perform their duties and meet the deadlines will be subject to strict measures.
- Mobile phones are strictly forbidden. No one is allowed to bring mobile phones to school and use them inside its premises, classes, or buses for e-learning, taking photos, or recording videos. Violators will be subject to the school disciplinary measures, and the phones will be confiscated. In case of need, a letter from the parent needs to be sent to the supervisor stating the need. The mobile phone will be switched off and kept in the supervisor’s office till the end of the school day. The school holds no responsibility if the mobile phone is lost.
- For Girls Only: In case parents don’t wish their daughters’ pictures to be taken at school, kindly inform the supervisors in writing.
