Students are constantly encouraged to participate in the different initiatives provided Locally and Internationally. The exposure enriches their school life and sets them for a journey of discovery and learning. The extracurricular activities include academics, humanitarian, field trips, workshops and many more. The diversity of the activities aims to involve students in the Global scene.
Emirati DNSers from KG1~4 submitted the projects for the Junior Innovators Challenge set to take place in March 2022 under the National Science and Technology Innovation (NSTI) Festival. Good luck to all our young scientists.
Students across the school talent in poetry reciting were recognised during the annual competition of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature Poetry Performance.
They learnt poetry by heart and gave an emotional response to the ideas of the poet.
DNSers participated in the “ Make their Winter warmer” initiative launched by the “Most Beautiful Winter in the World” campaign led by “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives”, the “UNHCR” and the “Network of Regional Food Banks” in collaboration with the youTuber Hassan Suleiman “Abu Fella” . The initiative raised 11 million dollars for the benefit of 110,531 families in The Arab region and Africa.
It is never too early to start thinking of a career in pharmaceuticals. A group of students from grades 2-12 submitted their ideas for the DUPHAT exhibition. The event plays a major role in shaping the pharmaceutical industry in the MENA region. DNS is proud of its students and wish them best of luck during the competition.
EXPO 2020 is a monumental event in the history of the UAE. All DNSers were excited to be part of this event by visiting the venue or participating in the EXPO School Discoveries: Innovative Cities competition. DNS Al barsha won the 1st spot of the Top 3 schools by average score. Students diligently worked to achieve the top scores.
Learning through field trips is an aspect DNS believes in strongly. Educational and recreational trips are planned to maximize the knowledge or social interaction between the different students. Whether going to museums, motiongate, and Kidzania, the students learn the social skills and knowledge needed to venture into the world.
Grade 9 students attended a lecture in the Etihad Museum organized by the UAE space agency to familiarise students with the Emirates Mars Mission and the Hope Probe. The students learnt about the journey of the Hope Probe from the early stages of design to its mission. The aerospace engineers held a Q&A session with the students. Many of these students were intrigued by the technology used and expressed an interest in space engineering.
High school students participated in the Entrepreneur Camp organized by Injaz, a Member of JA World. The students benefited greatly from the exposure and were recognised as the winners of the event.
Students actively participate and win the Entrepreneurial competitions they are attending such as YBTH (Young Business Talent Hunt), Next You Entrepreneurial Competition, and EDU Perfect- EXPO 2020.
